Learning from our past has been an innate quality within all of us. Riding a bicycle, learning a new language, everything involves take aways from past actions. The soul of Data Science lives in the same. And so is my aspiration to make a career out of it!

Data Scientist at Expedia Group, Seattle, Washington (May 2021 - Present)

Worked at the Flights Data Science team to derive insights using Machine learning and advanced statistics to drive the business forward in the right direction.

Data Scientist at eBay, San Jose, California (Mar. 2018 - May 2021)

Worked with the Traffic Engineering team to derive insights on eBay’s traffic pattern and understand the infrastructure performance. Key projects:

  • Site speed transfer function towards business metrics.
  • Anomaly detection.
  • Autonomous operation models to detect RCA insights.

Data Scientist at Footlocker, Bradenton, Florida (Sep. 2017 - Mar. 2018)

Worked with the marketing and customer insights team to derive insights on customer behavior and pattern. Key projects:

  • Cohort analysis.
  • Category affinity of customers.
  • Text analysis using Twitter regarding Footlocker related hashtags.

Data Scientist at Lands’ End, Dodgeville, Wisconsin (May 2016 - Dec. 2016)

Collaborated with the marketing team as a Data Science Intern with the motive to drive marketing using analytics. Key projects:

  • Developed customer segmentation model based on demographic and purchase pattern of customers.
  • Worked on a prediction model to find the category preference of a given customer using different Machine Learning algorithms.
  • Developed a churn prediction model to predict customers who are likely to churn out and find the factors which influences this churn
  • Apart from Data Science, lead a team of five interns from different domains on the project “Omni-channel model to drive processes”. Challenge was to communicate with several people at the company to put a good show. Great working and leading a project where none of us had prior experience on it.
Overall, great intern experience. Right from the orientation, trekking experience, lake cleaning activities, book session, staying in Madison, and more. And also, warmed me up in regards to the USA culture.

Analyst at Mobius Knowledge Services, Chennai, India (June 2014 - June 2015)

Hired as a fresher with the Analytics team. And the foundations here got me inspired to pursue my Master’s Degree. Key projects:

  • Developed scripts to crawl data from web as per requirement using regular expression, bs4 with Python which yielded in 98% accuracy for each website tested.
  • Worked on price trend comparison between competitors for given set of products.
  • Trained a set of 15 employees on Python over a period of 2 months, which helped transitioning few projects from Perl to Python.
